This 2-Pack brings together La Soledad and Primavera, our newest reserve lots - both Papayo, both from the renowned Huila region, yet defined by contrasting processing methods.
Side by side, they reveal how processing shapes flavour, and expression, offering a unique window glimpse into the innovation and craft shaping Colombian coffee today.
The coffees featured:
-
La Soledad, Colombia
High in the hills of Pitalito, Huila, Mario Gomez produces standout coffees on his family’s single farm, La Soledad. His approach is uncommon, growing multiple cultivars on one farm and experimenting with washed, honey, and natural processing methods. Sourced through Kawa, the Gomez family’s own export company, each lot is traced, cupped, and subjected to rigorous quality control at every stage. Working with farmers across Colombia, Kawa champions fair, transparent relationships and exceptional processing. The result is a cup that reflects both the care of its producer and the vibrant character of Huila’s terroir.
-
Primavera, Colombia
Finca La Primavera, a small family operation in Acevedo, Huila, is run by third-generation coffee farmer Ruben Correa and his brother. Purchased almost three decades ago, the 3 hectare farm is home to roughly 15 000 Papayo and Castillo Tambo coffee trees. Cherries are selectively handpicked to produce small, high-quality lots, with this anaerobic natural standing as a testament to their skill in fermentation, delivering remarkable clarity and striking complexity.
