Humure's Bourbon seeds are fairly resistant to heat, so we take our time on the turn around, and also don't rush to to get to first crack. But once we're there, we don't linger too long. Development time is only a fraction shorter than our Ethiopian coffees, due to the slightly larger beans.
The Rusatira family's 15 years of experience in the Rwandan specialty coffee scene has enabled them to set up and manage four quality focused washing stations, each in a different Rwandan Province. Humure Washing Station is run completely by women, and focuses on producing washed coffees only. A current focus at the station is on continuing to improve the efficiency of water use during the process of removing coffee cherries from the seeds.
